Purpose
The purpose of this article is to consider the debated idea of the apostle Paul in Romans 7. Was he sold to sin or free from sin? Was the apostle Paul, in his Christian life, "captive to sin" or "free from sin" (free from the slavery and bondage to sin). What does the New Testament teach? What do we make of our hero and role model? Is Paul referring to his former days "under the law" in Romans 7 when he says he is "captive to sin" or is he referring to his current Christian life? We claim that the apostle Paul is very complicated at times, but this can be figured out. He does not suffer from dyslexia between Romans 6, 7 and 8. This article will do a broader review of the full New Testament context to look for other relevant verses on the topic. Currently we only have this study as a first draft on paper. We started in 1 Corinthians and looped back to Matthew, then continued on to Romans. Please be patient as we hope to slowly add to this article.
